Tina Colbourne, About the Artist
I'm a self-taught Canadian Artist born in North York, Ontario. My family originates from Newfoundland, Canada and I spent a few years living there as a child. Art is in my genes, my father is an artist as well as my grandfather, great uncle and several uncles.
I started painting fairly young with my father by my side. He taught me many things and has always been a great inspiration. As a teenager I idolized Robert Bateman and always aspired to be a great wildlife painter and naturalist like him. I had put that dream aside for many years until after a fight with Cancer in 2014. I decided that I wanted to follow my dreams of becoming an artist.
I love painting wildlife because that is my greatest passion in life. When I was very young I wanted to become a veterinarian, but life brought me down a different path. Painting is something I really enjoy now and I am happy to have chosen to go down this path.

Oshawa Peony Festival Art Contest
This was a weekend event all about Peonies. I entered my painting "Bee in a Peony". The winner was chosen by People's Choice. Regretfully I didn't win but I did receive many votes. This was my first competition and first time publicly displaying my art. It was a very fun event and I would like to enter again in the future.
